Frequently asked questions
What is Rowena's background?
Before starting Avanzar Consulting in 2008, Rowena spent over a decade working as a change agent and business improvement specialist in the Finance industry. This included establishing customer-focus business solutions that required wholesale strategic change. In 2015 she studied coaching with an international coaching school and obtained a ACC accreditation with International Coach Federation. After starting her business with the intention of offering organisational change and business coaching, clients began reaching out to Rowena for support in developing confidence, leading teams, change in careers or how to align work aspirations to their core strengths and values.
Rowena is committed to ongoing personal and professional development. As well as her extensive reading, she has trained in Enneagram Profiling (Integrative Enneagram Solutions), Business and Marketing (AvantGarde Leadership), and Workshop Facilitation (Global Coaching Academy) amongst other things.
I’m not sure if I start with a single session or a program. What would you recommend?
Rowena uses the first session with a client to make sure it’s a good fit. If a coaching series has been purchased this continues to next session and if a single session has been purchased, additional sessions will be agreed to meet your requirements
If the free discovery call has not been used prior to the first session, please allow an extra 15 minutes to your session time.
I’m not sure what I want from my coaching. Does that mean I shouldn’t book a series?
Not at all. Coaching is about discovery and commitment to explore the change journey. As your coach, Rowena will travel alongside you as you establish what you need and hold you to account to realise your own defined outcomes. Staying present, curious, self-aware and non-judgmental during your sessions is core to success. If these qualities appeal, its likely you will enjoy working together. However, if her approach is not your thing, she’s respectful of that decision. Any series booked and not full utilised will be refunded in full if payment has been made at the time of booking.
Does Rowena see coaching clients on the weekends?
Not currently. Her client sessions are limited to week days and current availability can be viewed through the booking calendar.
Your executive and leadership coaching fees are lower than most coaches. Why is that?
Rowena has spent many years working within corporate office settings and still works in consulting part time. However, when working directly with clients and from her South Perth location, fees are adjusted accordingly. Let us know if your employer is funding your coaching and we’ll send a brochure with more information.
How often do we meet?
Sometimes a single session will be enough for you to clarify your direction or get clear about your values but generally, Rowena meets with her clients on a fortnightly basis for the first couple of months depending on the series that suits. Many of Rowena’s clients continue with a regular appointment after this but she’ll work with you to determine your specific needs, time and budget requirements.
Is coaching tax deductible?
